Package Management
Never update npm package manager
Updating npm without the official opkg package manager may result in broken dependencies and unstable Node-RED.
The eManager has a custom Linux distribution based on Yocto.
The CLI opkg tool is the default package manager.
The list of available opkg packages increases with every image release, that is twice a year.
Below you can view the list of available packages for each distro/image release:
| Image release | Distro | Yocto release | Package list |
|---|---|---|---|
| 21.02 | 1.1 | Thud | Link |
| 21.08 | 1.2 | Thud | Link |
| 22.01 | 2.0 | Dunfell | Link |
| 22.10 | 2.1 | Dunfell | Link |
| 24.04 | 3.0 | Kirkstone | Link |
| 24.10 | 3.1 | Kirkstone | Link |

The eManager can be updated to the latest image as detailed here.
